The Downtown

The American Midwest was opened to the world when Lockport’s canal Lock #1 became operational in 1848.  Lockport’s power location allowed the free flow of people and products to move from the East Coast to the Mississippi River Valley.

It all started in Lockport. And it continues today. show me >

 Downtown

With multiple interchanges on newly constructed Interstate 355, a Metra Commuter Rail line, an airport equipped to land private commuter jets, and the Sanitary & Shipping Canal all within a four minute drive of its historic city center, Lockport continues to occupy a power location at the intersection of State Road 7 and 171 that connects its people and businesses to all of Chicagoland.

This website has been designed to give potential investors, developers, and business owners the information they need to make the right decision on where to put their money for growth. The opportunities in Lockport's Historic Downtown are even greater today then they were in 1848. Take a look and see why.
